As your cervix dilates, you may see clear colored fluid or mild bleeding coming out of your vagina. Mild to strong contractions can also be felt at this time. Other signs that may appear include cramps, back pain, poor sleep, an unstable mood, or an upset stomach. The initial phase of labor can be long, the process is slow and can make you bored. This condition can take hours and even days, especially if this is your first experience giving birth. If your amniotic fluid has not ruptured and your condition is fine, you are advised to keep it at home. Staying at home during this early phase can also give you a more natural birth experience, your chances of getting medical intervention may be less (for example, you don't need to use drugs to speed up labor). When at home you are also better able to save energy for the next stage of labor that requires a lot of energy. While at home, you can do the following:
Expand wife. When you have entered this phase, it means that labor is in front of your eyes, but you don't know for sure when it will arrive. Now, childbirth can come suddenly without your expectation. Therefore, always prepare your energy to face labor. One way is to increase the time to rest.
Take a warm shower. Contractions can make your body uncomfortable. To help make your body more relaxed due to contractions, you can take a warm shower. Or, you can also compress a painful area of ​​your body with a towel that has been soaked in hot water or use a bottle of hot water.
Practice breathing or relaxation techniques. One technique you can practice is breathing while thinking about the word relax. So, when you take a breath, think of the word "ri" and when exhaling, think of "leks". When practicing this, you are advised to remain calm and release any tension you feel.
Other techniques that can be applied during the initial phase of labor, precisely between the time of contraction or when contractions. Well, the way to do this technique is to put your right hand under the rib cage, while your left hand is placed on the chest. After that take a deep breath through your nose and let your stomach swell so your hands are pushed. Make sure when you do this your chest won't move, yeah! Then exhale through the mouth (by forming lips like when you want to whistle). When the stomach comes back in, use your hand to gently press the area so that all air comes out. Eat foods that make you energized. Eat intakes that contain carbohydrates and are not easy to digest such as potatoes, bread and pasta.
Switch your mind Don't focus too much on what will happen during labor or imagine how painful the childbirth is. This can stress you out. So, just switch with things that can make you happy or forget about it. You can watch your favorite movie, listen to music, or take a leisurely walk with your partner.
After going through this initial phase, you will undergo an active phase of labor. In this phase, or at the end of the initial phase, you are advised to immediately go to the nearest hospital.
